I Place My Trust

Gazing out into the distance
Watching the horizon blush
Golden hue
The sun seems to have
Retired for the day
Oh, it seems to have
Gone away

Waves crashing on the shores
Seeing the sand castle break
Children laugh
They'll just build another
And this one, don't you know,
Will be better than the last
Practice wins

I'm happy to be here today
The sun goes nowhere
Nor does true
Friendship ever fade
In its warmth I bask away
In you I place my trust
And in me you may

And as I hear the children play
Even as the sand beneath my feet
Slips away
The shore is as full today
As it had been yesterday
In you I place my trust
And in me you may

What's That Elusive Sound?

What's that faint sound
With the whispering wind?
Why does it caress my ears?
Has it a message for me?

What's that scent it brings?
Why does it tease me so?
What does it intend to evoke?
And then, why subtly so?

I've been holding my breath
So not to disturb the breeze,
So the secret may be bared,
And the point be delivered,
Clearly, in time, before I depart
Through the noisy jungles,
To the peaceful shores,
And into the deep and
Quiet stillness beyond.

Inaudible now, though I sense it
Why is it so faint, the sound?
Only a hint of a lore forgotten?
Why not hit me loud and clear?

What's that learning it brings?
Why does it evade me so?
Why does it blow snowflakes?
Why does it not throw rocks?

I've known for quite some time
There plays this silent sound,
With it sways this subtle scent,
But I need to perceive them yet,
To recall, clearly, before I depart
Through the noisy jungles,
To the peaceful shores,
And into the deep and
Quiet stillness beyond.

I must discern this sound!
Why does it elude me so?
I need to draw out its message!
I need to absorb its lesson
Clearly, in time, before I depart
Through the noisy jungles,
To the peaceful shores,
And into the deep and
Quiet stillness beyond!

Every Seed Should Know

Enter my grave with a lion's heart;
Nerves of steel will do you good
For, you'll be staying here
As long as it takes you to see

That nothing exists here, although
Everything springs out of here!
And every seed should know this
Before it explodes to sprout!

Deep in here the world does vanish
No matter if you close your eyes or not;
You'll find no joy in the rules you knew
You'll need to learn one thing anew

That nothing exists here, although
Everything springs out of here!
And every seed should know this
Before it explodes to sprout!

My grave will change you many times;
It will feed you, and nourish you
And free you from binding shackles
Until you realize your own true worth

Your layers will peel off;
Your identity will be lost;
You'll be turned inside out;
Until you clearly see
That nothing exists here, although
Everything springs out of here!
And every seed should know this
Before it explodes to sprout!
